See wildlife locations off Coll, and throughout the route. Sightings of seals, dolphins, whales and golden eagles often occur.

Visit natural wonders including the amazing Corryvreckan whirlpool.

Whilst this example uses hostel accomodation, alternative options of B&B or hotels are also available. See our Hotels page for a selection of hotels for consideration.

The 3 day trip shown is a recommended example. Itineraries can be for shorter or longer periods.

The exploration possibilities on West Coast of Scotland are endless, and the north and west coast of Ireland are only a short hop away.
Day 1

11am: Depart Craobh Haven. From Craobh, north through the Cuan Sound which is a narrow channel between the islands of Seil and Luing through which the tides from the Sound of Jura (to the SE) and the Firth of Lorn (to the SW) ebb and flow at up to 15km/hr. Then on to Easdale Island (famous for the flooded slate quarries. Stop for a walk to top of island (with fantastic panoramic views), and perhaps a visit to the tiny Puffer restaurant/pub for lunch on the island. Then on to Island of Kererra and a possible visit to Duart Castle on Isle of Mull for a guided tour. Then north west through the sound of Mull (where there are frequent Golden eagle sightings) and into Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Overnight in Tobermory hostel. Evening meal in The Mishnish, the cafĂ©, or the fish or chip van, according to your preferences, then hopefully find some lively local music.
Day 2

Set off from Tobermory and head west out to Isle of Coll (frequent  whale spotting), perhaps hire bikes to cycle around the island, lunch on the Island, then optionally on to the Island of Tiree.  Therafter into the Treshnish islands, little Colonsay, and to Staffa for a possible landing to visit the legendary Fingal's Cave. Then east to the Isle of Ulva, and then on to the historic Isle of Iona for an opportunity to visit the Abbey and exploration of the island. Finally walk to the Iona hostel to spend the night there. Evening meal could be simple self-catering in the Hostel, or a walk back to a restaurant in the village.
Day 3

More time to explore Iona, then south to Isle of Colonsay, across to Isle of Islay, perhaps visit Bunnahabhain and Ardbeg Distilleries for tours, and then  north, through the amazing Corryvreckan (third largest whirlpool in the world) and back to starting point - Craobh Haven.
